Hey there!
Feeling a bit financially stuck?
You’re not alone. Getting those financial reports from your accountant can be like receiving a foreign language translation, right? And trying to chat numbers with other entrepreneurs feels like trying to discuss rocket science.
Feeling like you’re hustling hard but the money just keeps slipping away?
Guess what? Your business isn’t busted; it just needs a bit of financial GPS.
Now, I know what you might be thinking – “A CFO? Isn’t that for big shot companies?”
Well, not necessarily. Think of it this way: you wouldn’t wait for a break-in to install a security system, would you? Same goes for your finances.
So, what exactly can a CFO do for you?
Cash Flow Forecasting
Profitability is one thing, but you can be profitable and still be out of cash. We help you project weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts so you never run out of money. Wondering when to hire someone and how much you can afford to pay them? Curious about taking on a new line of credit? This is where we find those answers.
Key Performance Indicators & Metrics
Together we define your personal and professional goals and how to integrate them into your business operations. We help you define the key measurable items to track and how to hold your team (and yourself) accountable to making them happen.
Budgets & Projections
While we don’t have a crystal ball, we do love a good spreadsheet. We can create projections for a specific initiative, project or customer so you can make sure you are pricing profitably and know what opportunities are a hell yes and hell no.
Financial Reporting
What good is great bookkeeping if the P&L is full of “Uncategorized Expenses?” We align the categories and accounts to your preferences so you can turn the data into decisions quickly. Need all customer acquisition costs grouped together to measure ROI and pay commissions? Need to see income and costs broken out by business line? No problem. We also have some pretty cool CFO dashboards to help you get on-demand insights.
Deep Dives
Got a burning question on inventory management, cost reduction or employee compensation plans? Using your data and metrics, we can do a deep dive into a specific area to help you make informed decisions in real time. We also have access to industry reporting and statistics to benchmark your data against others in your industry.
Bookkeeping Services
To make sound business decisions, you need reliable data. Our team will allocate your transactions and format your financial reports in the most effective way for you to consume data timely. We will update your books weekly and reconcile to your bank and credit card statements monthly. Note that we do not perform Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or Payroll services. We believe these vendor, customer and employee relationships should be managed by the company directly.
Have your own bookkeeper and want to keep them? No problem. We can work alongside them.
CFO Meetings
We meet twice per month for 30 minutes and once per quarter for an hour. Check-in calls are a time to keep us updated on current priorities and challenges so we can identify where to help. Quarterly planning calls include a review of key financial data against KPIs and goals. In between calls, we are available in your own slack channel with your team and ours so nothing gets missed.
Tax Preparation
This is what you probably associate with a typical CPA firm. We will ensure your business income tax filing is completed timely so you don’t get hassled about those K-1s over the summer. We also handle sales tax filings for one state, or can recommend a trusted solution for businesses with larger reach. We will take care of your 1099 reports if we are the ones managing the bookkeeping year-round. We can also assist with your personal returns if needed for a small fee.
Tax Strategy
Being a business owner opens up so many opportunities for tax savings. We will explore current business tax strategies such as the S Corporation election, hiring your kids, the Augusta Rule, and an Accountable Plan reimbursement system.
So, whether you’re just starting out or already running a thriving business, a little financial guidance can go a long way. Let’s chat and see how we can help you navigate the financial waters.
